Giving back to our Los Angeles community is an honor.
Helping our friends in need in Los Angeles is very important to us. So last month, some of our Blowfish Malibu team members ventured to Commerce, California, to do just that. Our team volunteered with Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Two Ten Footwear Foundation, and other footwear brands to fight the hunger need in L.A. Their mission was to build as many food boxes as they could for people in need throughout Los Angeles.
The group built over 2,000 boxes to be distributed to senior citizens throughout Los Angeles county.
The boxes included non-perishable, nutritious, and easy to cook food. Additionally, the volunteers filled nearly 500 backpacks with school supplies for kids.
Two Ten Footwear Foundation is an organization that “provides emergency financial assistance, natural disaster recovery, educational scholarships, counseling services and professional development programs that improve the lives and careers of the country’s 330,000 footwear employees and their families. The only industry-centric foundation in the country, Two Ten brings the footwear community together to support each other during times of crisis and ensure a bright future for the industry’s workforce.”
Overall, it was an incredible experience to partner with these amazing organizations, and one we plan on participating in again in the future! Blowfish Malibu loves giving back whenever we have the chance. Check out some photos below.
